The fascinating thing about architectural photography is that it practically always misses its supposed goal of depicting a building in its full dimension and peculiarity. The camera transforms a building into a two-dimensional object. Another property also means that only a fraction of time is captured. Thus, dissonances arise between our perception and the photograph.

Shortly after the death of architect Robert Obrist, I was commissioned by the Bündner Heimatschutz to document his most important buildings.
